The Arthrogryposis
Group (TAG) is the national organisation in the UK for the condition
Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC). The aims of TAG are:-
|
 |
To offer contact,
information and support to people with AMC and their families |
|
 |
To provide
information to professionals and other interested parties seeking to
increase their knowledge of AMC |
|
 |
To encourage
public and professional awareness of AMC |
|
 |
To encourage and
support the integration of people with AMC within the community |
|
 |
To further
research in the field of AMC |

TAG provides
contact and information in a number of ways. The quarterly
newsletter, TAGTalk, keeps everyone in touch and features news from
members as well as regular articles from the Committee and Regional
Contacts, dates of meetings, news on any research developments and
lots of other helpful information too.
The Annual
National TAG Weekend gives members the opportunity to meet others in
a relaxed and informal atmosphere. There are talks on a wide variety
of topics for the adults and outings or a crèche for the
children. Many of the presentations are published in reports so that
all TAG members benefit from the knowledge gained. The reports are
also requested by members of the medical profession and other
interested parties.
TAG distributes a
regional contact list to members giving the names and addresses of
members who are happy to hear from others within the group. Members
can then get in touch for example with someone who has a child of a
similar age or their nearest member.
Our Regional
Contacts keep in touch with the members in their area through
personal contact, letters, 'phone calls, and social events. The
regional get-togethers enable members to meet up with other members
in their region and include anything from a Summer Barbecue, an
'At-home', to a Christmas Party.

Full
membership is open to all adults with arthrogryposis and parents or
guardians of people of any age who have the condition. Associate
membership is available to adults who have an interest in the
condition, e.g. members of the medical profession, friends and relatives. |
