The TAG Ball 2003 CANCELLED  CANCELLED  CANCELLED

The social event of the TAG year will be held at the Burlington Hotel, Burlington Arcade, 126 New Street, Birmingham on Saturday 26th July 2003. Reception at 6.45pm and dinner at 7.45pm.

This is the brainchild of the aunt of relatively new members Antoinette and Devon Ellis and Mahalia. Birmingham will be taken by storm on that evening and no longer will the people of that good city have an excuse not to know what Arthrogryposis is. Guests will be able to have a photograph taken upon arrival, and a percentage of the profit will be donated to the organisation. Music and cabaret are being organised!

Ticket price £50.00 per head, black tie or traditional dress & ball gowns.

Where will you stay after this social extravaganza? A concessionary room rate at the hotel is available for anyone wishing to stop the night: singles @ only £40 room; doubles/twins @ only £50.00 room. Anyone wishing to take up this offer just need to contact reservations directly on 0121 633 1716 and quote the event name and also have credit card details handy to secure the booking. Only a limited number of rooms have been allocated to us so it is a case of first come first served.    top of page

TAG Conference

This is reminder that we need your applications for conference by the middle of July so that adequate arrangements can be made, particularly with regard to the children's activities.

Conference frolics! The highlight of last year's conference was undoubtedly the live entertainment on Saturday evening after dinner when our very own star, Steven Smelt, took to the stage.

As can be seen from the photos he had everybody either up on their feet or dancing in their wheelchairs.

Not surprisingly, there has been great demand for a return visit.    top of page

Comments made at last year's AGM have been taken on board and a new formula from Saturday tea-time onwards is to be tried. The formal business of the AGM will take place during Saturday evening as we eat. This will leave Sunday morning free to do more interesting things. It was suggested last year that there should be a time when we do things together as a whole family. There will be a series of challenges to do in Groups throughout Sunday morning culminating in awards.

We have an exciting prospect on the Saturday for all the children except the younger ones, based on Camp activities. There will be two activities, one to be done in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Although Camp will not take place in the summer of this year, it is expected that it will be back in 2004. We hope the activities at Conference will encourage more youngsters to apply for Camp in the future.

We hope this has whetted your appetite for conference this year.

We always plead for people to book early but we really do need to know this year by July to enable us to secure venues, equipment and staff.

If there are reasons why you cannot commit by July please let us know so that we can make a provisional booking for you.

Email us for an on-line booking form.
